Structural analysis of 3D scanners

As an advanced measuring device, 3D scanners play an important role in many fields. Understanding their structure helps to better understand their working principles and application scope.

3D scanners are mainly composed of optical systems, sensors, data acquisition and processing systems, and mechanical support structures.

The optical system is one of the key parts of a 3D scanner. It illuminates the object being measured by emitting specific light, such as laser or structured light. These light rays interact with the surface of the object to produce reflected or scattered light signals, providing a basis for subsequent measurements. Different types of optical systems are suitable for different application scenarios. For example, laser scanning systems have high accuracy and resolution and are suitable for high-precision measurement of objects with complex shapes; while structured light scanning systems have advantages in scanning speed and efficiency.

The sensor is responsible for receiving the signals reflected or scattered back by the light emitted by the optical system on the surface of the object. It can convert these light signals into electrical signals and transmit them to the data acquisition and processing system. The sensor needs to have high sensitivity and high precision to ensure that it can accurately capture tiny changes in light signals.

The data acquisition and processing system is the "brain" of the 3D scanner. It collects, amplifies, filters and processes the electrical signals from the sensor, and then converts the optical signals into three-dimensional coordinate information through complex algorithms. The data processing system also needs to splice, fuse and optimize the collected data to obtain a complete and accurate three-dimensional model of the object.

The mechanical support structure provides stable physical support for the entire 3D scanner, ensuring that each component can work accurately and stably.
